William Guy was the husband of Mrs. Harriet Sophia Guy Cox. Born at Glasgow.
 
He was serving aboard the S.S. Apapa, en route from Sierra Leone to Liverpool carrying cargo and passengers, when she was torpedoed without warning off Anglesey in the early hours of the 28th November 1917, with the loss of over seventy passengers and crew.
