Robert Nelson Jessop was born at Huddersfield in 1886, the son of John and Emily Jessop.

A daughter, Olive Maud E Jessop was born on the 13th August 1911.
 
Robert Nelson Jessop was lost when the R.M.S. Lusitania was sunk by torpedo off Kinsale, Ireland on the 7th May 1915.
 
His wife and daughter were still living at 46 Thornton Road, Bootle after the war.
 
His wife, Helena, never remarried. She died at Liverpool in 1970, aged 85.
 
His daughter, Olive, married George Greggans at Bootle in 1948. She and her husband had one daughter. Olive Greggans died in the Knowsley district in 1976.
