Charles Potbury Thompson was born at 25 Queens Road, Bootle on the 30th April 1893 and was baptised on the 4th June at St.John's C.of E. Church, Bootle.
He was the son of Charles Boyer Thompson and Ada Ursula Upsdale (nee Potbury) who were married at the same church in 1891. His father was a mariner.
1901 Census - 23 Gonville Road, Bootle - Parents Charles and Ursula A with children Charles P, Ursula, Ada G, Evelyn and Willard.
1911 Census - 280 Westminster Road, Kirkdale - C. Thompson (b 1864) and wife A. Thompson (b 1870) and children, C. Thompson (1864), U. Thompson (1896), A. Thompson (1898), E. Thompson (1900) and W. Thompson (1901). All the children were born at Bootle. Parents had been married 19 years with 5 children born and still alive.
Charles formerly served as 64968 3rd battalion King’s Liverpool Regiment before being transferred to the Royal Fusiliers. He died of wounds on the 16th May 1918.
His family lived at 2 Willowdale Road, Fazakerley after the war.
