Edward Jones was born at Liverpool in 1892, the son of Edward Jones and Eleanor Caroline (nee Turner).
 
His mother was married three times; firstly to Henry Reginald Turner in 1882, secondly to Edward Jones on the 28th April 1890 at St.Mary's C.of E. Church, Bootle and thirdly to Frederick Lawrence on the 7th June 1902 at St.Matthew's C.of E. Church, Bootle
 
At the time of the 1911 census Edward was living with his step-father, mother and siblings at 241 Litherland Road, Bootle.
 
He enlisted in the army at Liverpool. His service records have not survived and his medal card suggests that he was posted to the front after January 1916.
 
He was killed in action in France Belgium on the 30th July 1916.
 
Edward's mother died in 1917, aged 54. After the war his next of kin was his step-father, Frederick Lawrence.
