Different war memorials give varying amounts of information. This database shows the information that appears on the memorials, copying the original spellings and abbreviations as far as possible.
The information will be displayed as shown below for names beginning with CLARK.
As many memorials contain only an initial and not the full first name it is advisable to make your search as wide as possible. ie use CLARK rather than J CLARK but both of these are better than James CLARK.
If you search for the name CLARK your search results will include all names that begin with CLARK such as CLARKE and CLARKSON.
Further Search Options are available if you wish to limit a search to a specific location or type of memorial, such as all the Smiths in Bootle, all the names that appear on Garston memorials, or all memorials erected at workplaces.
You can also extract the names of those who served with the Australian forces, all Airmen, members of the King's Liverpool Regiment, or those lost on the Lusitania. However, many memorials do not contain these additional details.
The tables of Memorials included and Other sources  included below indicates which information has been recorded so far. If you would like to submit information from any set of records not yet known to us please do get in touch. Information on how you can help with this or any other part of the project or about the various ways you can send us information about anyone you have found listed on this site can be found in the 'Get Involved' section.
